A potential divider (or voltage divider) is a circuit that divides the input voltage between two resistors in series. If you have an LDR and a thermistor, they can form a potential divider to convert changes in light and temperature into voltage changes.

1. LDR is exposed to more light → Its resistance decreases.
2. Lower LDR resistance → More current flows in the circuit (since they are in series).
3. Higher current through the thermistor → Its resistance must decrease (Ohm’s Law:
   $V = IR$

   , and for an NTC thermistor, resistance decreases as temperature decreases).

4. Since the thermistor’s resistance decreases, its temperature must also decrease, meaning it’s cooling down.
